Jane Bowes

Principal Lawyer, Director and founder

Jane is the Principal Lawyer, Director and founder of Bowes Legal in Rockhampton, Queensland.
As the founder of Bowes Legal, Jane had a strong ethical stance to take against the large corporates. Observing the industry, especially in regional towns, we noticed a distressing trend: vulnerable, injured individuals were being taken advantage of by firms that overcharged and under-delivered.
These injured people, often facing only one opportunity for a settlement, were exploited due to their lack of knowledge, frequently resulting in financial hardship even after their cases were resolved.

‘There is a big, wide world outside big city corporate law’

“The higher I climbed, the further misaligned my personal values were becoming with big firms and corporates. The misalignment was loud against my purpose and desire to advocate for those without a voice. Injured Australians in regional towns are vulnerable and can easily be taken advantage of. They need a strong, confident person in their corner, and they want someone they can trust. They want someone they can physically see who is working and living in their community, who understands their situation and someone they can relate to,”
